We are seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team with our Specialty Care Center (SCC) team! This is a

part-time

position (64hrs per two-week pay period) and is

benefits-eligible.

The Specialty Care Center at Memorial Health includes Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology, Oncology & Hematology, Physical Medicine and Rebab (EMG), Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Clinic, Pulmonary, Rheumatology, and Sleep Medicine. What You'll Do Perform delegated nursing functions under the supervision of the RN or LPN using established procedures, policies, guidelines and standards of care. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery. Manually cleans and disinfects patient care items and equipment notifies director of missing or malfunctioning equipment. Answers phones, records messages, and greets patients and visitors. Obtains insurance pre-authorization as necessary. Prepare charts for physician clinics and schedules patient appointments. Documents and reports observations to the nurse or provider. Accurately documents patient care provided on appropriate hospital forms and within the established timeframe What You'll Bring/Requirements: Training or experience as a medical assistant Highschool diploma or equivalent 2+ years experience in a medical office setting Knowledge of medical terminology Personal computer, data entry, and communication skills Ability to acquire American Heart Association/BLS within 60 days of employment.
