Part-Time Licensed Massage Therapist

PalmLeaf Massage and Wellness

NW Orthopaedic Massage is an owner-led orthopedic and integrative massage clinic in Edmonds, WA, seeking a thoughtful, reliable Licensed Massage Therapist for a part-time employee position.

We serve patients ranging from athletes to older adults, including people managing persistent pain and recovering from motor vehicle and workplace injuries. Our approach combines individualized hands‑on treatment with an understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, posture, and movement.

We welcome therapists with orthopedic experience and those whose complementary skills broaden our services. Experience with gentler therapeutic approaches is especially welcome. We value the ability to adapt pressure and techniques to each patient’s needs and comfort.

Our practice also incorporates approaches that support relaxation and nervous system downregulation. Reiki and energy work are optional services based on patient preference and consent; training in these modalities is welcome but not required.

You’ll have opportunities for mentoring from our owner and staff, who are Licensed Massage Therapists and Licensed Athletic Trainers. Our owner also holds a master’s degree in Human Movement and is a Reiki Master. We offer professional autonomy within your scope of practice, clinical collaboration, and a welcoming workplace with warmth and humor.

Schedule: Approximately 10–15 hours per week across 2–3 days. Preferred availability is Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with flexible hours on Fridays and Saturdays. This is a long‑term, in‑person position with potential for additional hours as the clinic grows.

Compensation and benefits:
  • $50–$65 per booked massage hour, depending on experience.
  • Required charting, administrative work, and on‑the‑clock downtime are paid at the applicable minimum wage.
  • Employees retain 100% of their tips.
  • Internal coaching and mentoring.
  • Tiered continuing education reimbursement.
  • Short‑term disability coverage after six months, subject to plan eligibility.
  • Paid sick leave based on WA State Law.
  • Self‑care opportunities, including massage and Reiki.
  • Administrative and billing support.
  • Hydraulic treatment tables, supplies, and linen service provided.
  • Free parking.
  • Pay issued twice monthly.
  • Qualifications: Active Washington State massage therapy license, current professional liability insurance, a strong therapeutic massage foundation, and clear communication and documentation skills. Candidates should be reliable, professional, comfortable working independently, and interested in continued learning.
Job Duties:
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans within your scope of practice.
  • Provide therapeutic and orthopedic massage using techniques appropriate to each patient’s goals.
  • Adjust pressure, pacing, and positioning based on the patient's comfort and response.
  • Maintain informed consent, appropriate draping, and professional boundaries.
  • Complete accurate, timely charting and progress reports as needed.
  • Educate patients on appropriate self‑care strategies within your scope of practice.
  • Discuss cases and collaborate with clinic colleagues as appropriate.
