For over 70 years FSB has held these principles, down to the motto our customers have come to know us by -- "The Friendliest Bank Anywhere".Position SummaryThe Senior Loan Officer will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with current and prospective customers in Victoria and surrounding counties. The ideal candidate holds a wholistic view of banking with a deep understanding of banking principles and a commitment to providing personalized service beyond sales.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssess and understand customers' financial needs in order to provide mutually beneficial solutions aligned with customer goals and FSB guidelinesDevelop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients in Victoria county and surrounding marketsMust understand basic cash-flow principles in order to understand if a good deal is a good deal beyond surface level conversationsSubmits application to credit analysts or, when appropriate, examines application and creditworthiness of potential borrower; determines or makes recommendations regarding approval or denial/modification of requested loan within respective authority limitsApproves or, when outside pre-approved lending limits, refers loans to management for further analysis and approvalRemain informed of market trends, loan products, and regulatory changes to provide compliant and informed guidance to clientsMust become knowledgeable about other bank products to identify and refer cross-sell opportunitiesCollaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless loan process with an exceptional customer experienceMaintains a robust referral network in the local banking community with builders, real estate agents, and other related industriesRepresent the bank at community and networking events to enhance visibility and brand recognitionPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications, Skills, and AbilitiesBachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited university preferred5+ years with education or 9+ years with requisite experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal, customer service, and sales skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteThe First State Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
