About Ruth’s Way, Inc.

Ruth’s Way, Inc. is a faith-informed nonprofit Achievement Consulting Agency dedicated to empowering adolescent girls ages 10–17 to realize their voice, recognize their strengths, overcome barriers, and achieve long-term success. Through evidence-informed programming, school partnerships, family engagement, and community collaboration, we help young women build the skills and confidence needed to succeed academically, socially, emotionally, and personally.

Position Summary

As a Youth Empowerment & Achievement Facilitator , you will lead Ruth’s Way’s signature Fabulous Forums in schools and community settings throughout Allegheny County.

Rather than delivering traditional classroom instruction, you’ll facilitate engaging discussions and interactive activities that encourage participants to think critically, communicate confidently, build positive relationships, and develop practical life skills.

Every Forum is designed to create a safe, encouraging environment where girls feel heard, respected, supported, and empowered to become the best version of themselves.

What You’ll Do

As a member of our Youth Empowerment Team, you will:

• Facilitate engaging, discussion-based Fabulous Forums for adolescent girls in school and community settings.
• Inspire participants through interactive conversations, experiential learning activities, and relationship-building.
• Encourage leadership, confidence, self-awareness, resilience, and healthy decision-making.
• Teach practical life skills including communication, conflict resolution, financial literacy, career readiness, goal setting, emotional wellness, and personal responsibility.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment where every participant feels safe, respected, and encouraged to participate.
• Serve as a positive mentor and trusted adult role model.
• Collaborate with school personnel, parents, guardians, and community partners to support participant success.
• Maintain attendance records, documentation, progress notes, and other required reports.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision, professional development, and agency trainings.
• Represent Ruth’s Way with professionalism, integrity, compassion, and cultural sensitivity.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas is preferred:

• Education
• Social Work
• Human Services
• Psychology
• Sociology
• Counseling
• Behavioral Health
• Child Development
• Youth Development
• Criminal Justice
• Family Studies

Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience working with youth will also be considered.

Experience in one or more of the following is highly valued:

• Youth mentoring
• Group facilitation
• School-based programming
• Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
• Afterschool or summer programming
• Community outreach
• Family engagement
• Leadership development

All staff are required to complete the Strengths-Based Family Worker (SFW) Credentialing Program through Temple University and the Allegheny County Department of Human Services Family Development Training Program as part of our agency-wide commitment to excellence in family engagement and strengths-based practice.
