Pharmacy Inpatient TechnicianAssures the appropriate selection, dosing, administration, and dispensing of medication orders in the Retail Pharmacy.Job Responsibilities:Reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug related problems.Recommends formulary alternatives when appropriate.Compounds and dispenses medications for retail sales.Ensures appropriate packaging and labeling according to state and federal regulations.Provides drug information and education to consumers.Communicates with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.Counsels patients on their medications.Supervises Pharmacy Technicians to ensure proper dosage and labeling of medications and validates order entries.Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Skills and Attributes:Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.Works under minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Position Requirements:Work ExperienceNo experience requiredEducationBachelor's degree or higher in Pharmacy required upon hireLicensure/Certification/RegistrationR.Ph. - Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of Kentucky required upon hireOrganizational Responsibilities:Supports Owensboro Health's Mission, Vision, Core Commitments, and business interests.
