Test Engineer

Salary: $63,000 - 103,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a BS or Associates degree from an accredited college or technical school in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with EE, EET, or ME preferred, or equivalent military training in Electronics Engineering Technology or a similar field.
• We require five years of related experience.
• We need hands-on experience with high-speed digital design and/or debugging.
• We require strong component-level troubleshooting capability.
• We need experience using high-speed digital oscilloscopes and/or protocol analyzers.
• Knowledge of SERDES verification and qualification is a plus.
• We look for familiarity with electrical test methods, including bench, automated, and functional testing, as well as test planning, procedures, equipment, and result validation criteria.
• We require knowledge of computer hardware and software components and their performance characteristics.
• We need proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
• Hand soldering and rework experience is highly desirable.
• A general understanding of printed wiring assembly production is desirable.
• We require familiarity with at least three of the following areas: solid state electronics, microprocessor applications, digital logic, digital design, communications systems, or another comparable engineering, science, or physics discipline.
• We require the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• We need a positive attitude, a strong desire to excel, and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented culture.
• We require availability and willingness to work alternate shifts as needed.
• We require good color perception, strong eyesight, and the ability to use magnification tools such as binocular microscopes and related test equipment.
• We require good hand-eye coordination and the ability to use basic hand tools.
• We require the ability to lift up to 40 pounds comfortably.

• We conduct functional testing to measure the performance of production electronic systems, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
• We test commercial and complex military-specification electronic assemblies using pre-production or prototype documentation.
• We compare test results against specifications and accurately document test data.
• We analyze defective units to identify the root cause of failure.
• We help develop processes, tooling, and fixtures as needed.
• We ensure test equipment calibration requirements are maintained.
• We manage our time effectively and complete all tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• We support the test execution phase of motherboard and upper-level assemblies that interface with common PC peripheral functions such as PCI Express, SATA, USB, Ethernet, and others.
• We execute test plans and troubleshoot high-density mixed-signal circuitry.
• We work closely with team members throughout the different phases of development.
• We set up or design standard and automated test equipment to perform functional, operational, environmental, and life tests on prototype or production assemblies.
• We analyze test outcomes and repair or adjust assemblies based on the results.
• We recommend improvements to test procedures to simplify testing and assembly processes.
