Project Engineer (BESS)

Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer supporting utility-scale renewable energy and battery storage projects.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering, project execution, and field implementation, working across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, utilities, and OEM partners.
Key areas of focus:
• Utility-scale BESS and renewable energy projects
• Substations, transformers, MV equipment, and power systems
• Engineering reviews, technical issue resolution, and commissioning support
• Coordination with EPCs, utilities, consultants, and equipment manufacturers
• 20-30% travel to project sites and vendor facilities
We're particularly interested in engineers with experience in renewable energy, power systems, substations, BESS, utility infrastructure, or related electrical engineering environments. This position can sit on a hybrid basis in Houston, TX, Arlington, VA, or Alpharetta, GA.
6 month contract to hire
Hourly Rate starting at $65hr, negotiable based on experience level
