Hardware Technician 2 – IT Field Support Specialist (Cleared) Ft. Meade and surrounding area, MD REQUIRES anACTIVE TOP SECRET/SCI Clearance with Polygraph to Start SCD Information Technology (SCDIT) is seeking a skilled Hardware Technician 2 with practical experience in hardware installation, repair, and maintenance to serve as an IT Field Support Specialist 2 for a technology support contract which encompasses support in the areas of IT cabling, Telecommunications, Computer Hardware, Computer Software, and Help Desk within the DMV. Responsibilities Provide Tier 2 and 3 on-site and remote supports for computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment. Conduct sites surveys; assesses and documents current site configuration and user requirements. Analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions. Develops hardware installation schedules. Prepare drawings documenting configuration changes at each site. Prepares site installation and test reports. Train site personnel in proper use of hardware. Build specialized interconnecting cables. Requirements An active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required to start. Minimum education and experience level: High school/GED and two (2) to four (4) years of experience and Security + Certification. Equivalent education and experience: Associate degree in a technical field and two (2) years of experience or a Bachelors’ degree in a technical field. Must have one of the following 8570 certifications: A+ CE, NET+ CE, SSCP prior to starting on contract. Salary Range:$70,000 - $77,000 The SCD Information Technology pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
