Associate Design Engineer AAS

UIS is a multidisciplinary engineering and construction company that provides fully integrated design‑build services for high‑technology manufacturing facilities. Our scope of services includes engineering design, high‑tech factory planning, and on‑time equipment and material delivery. Clean‑room systems, HVAC, electrical systems, and tool hook‑up are critical components that require total coordination. Summary United Integrated Services (USA) is looking for an Associate Design Engineer – Air Abatement System (AAS) to join our team. This is a full‑time onsite position located in North Phoenix, AZ. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform requirements classification of clients and communicate project requirements and design reviews with the internal & external design teams for Air Abatement System (AAS) components such as process exhaust duct, scrubbers for waste air treatment, and dosing chemicals. Clarify scope of work and specifications with stakeholders. Assist procurement team with AAS system equipment and materials and support contractors’ awards. Review isometrics, P&ID, and CAD drawings specifically for AAS systems. Approve and oversee installation of AAS systems. Conduct inspections to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and adheres to construction schedules. Review progress reports, material usage, costs, contract payment applications, and adjust work schedules as needed. Respond to RFIs and change orders. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal use and client communication. Identify and solve problems. Schedule and execute project timelines. Interpret drawings, specifications, and estimates. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 0–1+ years of work experience related to Mechanical HVAC. Direct AAS systems planning and/or construction experience preferred. Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of process exhaust duct sizing & layout and scrubber mechanisms for waste air treatment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Ability to use engineering software such as AutoCAD, Primavera, or others. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. High level of attention to detail and strong organizational ability. Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in all tasks. Effective prioritization of responsibilities based on project needs. Strong presentation and communication skills to managers, employees, and contractors. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with employees, clients, and subcontractors. Capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining professionalism. Experience working in a construction site environment (trailer office). Effective verbal and written English communication skills required. Ability to communicate in Mandarin/Taiwanese is a plus. Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals; write routine reports and correspondence. Nice to Have: Verbal communication skills in Mandarin. Professional Engineer license. Additional Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license. May be required to travel to other sites within Arizona for certain work functions. Maintain visual acuity sufficient to read labels, instructions, safety signage, and documentation. Maintain balance and coordination while moving materials or operating equipment. Work in physically demanding environments requiring frequent movement and manual labor. Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment. Indoor and/or outdoor work environments, which may include varying temperatures and weather conditions. Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, or active job sites, depending on project requirements. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel‑toe boots, and high‑visibility vests.
