The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to supporting high-quality surgical care and patient comfort.The Surgical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the oral surgeon during procedures by ensuring a safe, efficient, and comfortable experience for patients. This position assists with surgical preparation, chairside support, sterilization, and patient care while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and safety.Your responsibilities will include:Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment before, during, and after procedures.Escort each patient to the operatory in a timely mannerHelp patients feel comfortable before, during and after treatmentAssist in preparing patients for surgery and help monitor vital signs and anesthesia levelsConfirm with medical history with patient and make any necessary changes neededConfirm the patient is aware of and educated on the treatment being performedAssist the oral surgeon by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing any necessary materials during surgery.Accurately document patient information and surgical details into the patient's electronic health record (EHR).Assist with post-operative care instructions and ensure proper follow-up.Stock all operatories and designated sterilization area(s).Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.Preferred Qualifications:Must maintain certification and/or license renewals as required by the state.Must excel in forward thinking to anticipate the needs of the patient and our dental team.May be required to travel between office locations.
