Responsibilities Managing a varied caseload of employment defense matters (wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, and more) Handling all phases of litigation including pleadings, discovery, trial, and appeal when needed Advising clients directly and keeping them informed every step of the way Drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery responses backed by sharp legal research Appearing at hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials Leading settlement negotiations and ADR to obtain the best possible outcomes for clients Collaborating with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to move cases forward Qualifications JD from an accredited law school Active California State Bar membership 4+ years of employment defense litigation experience Solid grasp of CA state and federal court procedures Strong writing and communication skills Independent, detail-oriented, and a true team player Preferred Class action or complex litigation experience Trial experience A knack for building lasting client relationships Benefits Base salary of $150,000–$250,000, depending on experience Full benefits: health, dental, vision 401(k) with employer match Generous PTO and holidays Equal Opportunity and Legal Jobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
