Champlain College is looking for a Social Media Coordinator to bring our brand to life.The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for creating engaging, visually compelling content in support of Champlain College's comprehensive social media strategy. With a strong emphasis on high-quality photography and video storytelling, this content will enhance brand awareness, drive engagement, and achieve strategic communication and enrollment goals. This role is also responsible for monitoring the College's social channels and optimizing social media platforms.The Social Media Coordinator plays an integral role in Champlain College's social media presence and in creating content that resonates, attracts, informs, and engages prospective students, families, and other key audiences. This position demands creativity in leveraging social media tools to achieve measurable results while collaborating closely with college functional areas and stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesContent Creation & StorytellingCreate engaging, high-quality social media content, including captions, images, video, and graphics, tailored to each platformProduce high-quality, short-form video for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube ShortsCapture high-quality photography in support of storytelling efforts, at campus events, and of student life on campus and in BurlingtonCampaign ExecutionWork collaboratively with the social media team to execute comprehensive social media strategies that align with enrollment goals and institutional objectivesUnder the leadership of the Associate Director of Storytelling & PR and in collaboration with the Social Media and Community Specialist, plan, execute, and manage social media campaigns to drive engagement, brand awareness, and enrollment conversionsCollaborate with marketing, public relations, and creative teams to ensure campaigns integrate with overall marketing effortsCommunity Engagement & Reputation ManagementHelp manage and grow the College's social media communities by engaging with followers, responding to comments and messages, and fostering positive interactionsSupport admissions-focused social accounts for incoming students, including Discord and InstagramCollaborate with student social media content creators to amplify authentic campus experiencesMonitor online conversations and brand mentions to gauge public sentiment and proactively address emerging concernsPerformance Analysis & InnovationContribute to regular performance report conversations with insights and recommendations for optimizationProvide training and guidance to internal teams on social media best practices and platform updatesExperiment with new social media tools, formats, and platforms to stay ahead of industry trendsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field1-3 years of professional experience in marketing and communications, including internship experienceHands-on management and content creation experience across key social channels (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube)Strong video production and editing skills, with proficiency in tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut, and a solid photography foundation, including DSLR cameras, gimbals, lighting, and audio gearProficiency with graphic design for social media using Adobe Creative Suite and CanvaExceptional writing, communication, and visual storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt voice and tone across platformsExperience with social media management/scheduling platforms, SEO best practices, and analytics tools is a plusWorking ArrangementsHybrid work environment, with flexibility required for campus events and content creationOccasional evening or weekend work for live events, campaign launches, and social media monitoringAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple concurrent campaignsTravel to campus events and content creation opportunities as neededCompensation & BenefitsAnnual Salary: $50,000 - $54,300Comprehensive Benefits Package: Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance with HSA and FSA optionsPaid Time Off: 16 holidays, 4 weeks of vacation, 2 weeks sick time, and 2 days of personal leaveRetirement: 403(b) plan with 3% employer matching contributionEducation: Tuition benefits for employees and family membersWellness: Gym discount and Wellness programs with up to $300 annual incentivesWelfare: Short-term and long-term disability coverage, plus life insuranceOther Perks: Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with counseling services, access to employee discounts and local/national benefit programsApplication InstructionsTo apply, please follow the link below and submit the following application materials:Resume/CVCover Letter addressing the desired qualifications and how your experience contributes to the mission and goals of Champlain College's Marketing teamPortfolio or samples of social media content, photography, and/or video workThe College seeks candidates who can enhance its mission through their work, life experiences, service, teaching, or research.
