Clinical Assessor

The Clinical Assessor position is responsible for providing a wide array of culturally sensitive, recovery oriented, trauma sensitive, direct clinical services provided in conjunction with other staff. Services provided by this position may include assessment, treatment planning, referrals and case management. Master’s degree is preferred, and preference will be given to those holding a master’s degree. The Clinical Assessor works with residents of Dane County needing to complete an assessment and follow up requirements to regain their driving privileges after being arrested for Operating While Impaired (OWI) related charges. Required assessments will be based on designated work hours. Clinical Assessor duties encompass the completion of a substance use assessment containing diagnosis, initial brief intervention and treatment planning, level of care determination, service recommendation, referral to a treatment provider or appropriate program, filing reports with the Department of Transportation, and coordination with case managers, treatment providers, and consumers, which may include phone calls, emails, and sending letters. The Clinical Assessor reports directly to the assigned supervisor with overall program supervision provided by the Clinical Assessment Program Coordinator. Provision of Clinical Services (high responsibility, 90% effort)Performs accurate assessments to initially evaluate alcohol and other drug use in a culturally sensitive, recovery oriented, trauma sensitive manner.Provides a range of clinical services in conjunction with program staff including outreach, assessment, treatment planning, referral, and case management in a context that is supportive of the consumer’s culture, values, and perspectives.Completes accurate clinical records including intakes, assessments, treatment plans and updates, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other information in a timely manner.B.
