Position Summary
The Leveling Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring leveling equipment used to flatten and straighten metal sheets, plates, coils, or other materials to meet customer specifications and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a manufacturing or metal processing environment.

Essential Job Duties

• Set up and operate leveling machines according to production specifications.
• Inspect incoming materials for defects or damage before processing.
• Adjust machine settings to achieve proper flatness, thickness, and tolerance requirements.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed during operation.
• Measure finished materials using calipers, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools.
• Perform routine quality inspections to ensure products meet company and customer standards.
• Load and unload materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material handling equipment (if certified).
• Complete production reports, work orders, and quality documentation accurately.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and housekeeping standards.
• Work collaboratively with production, shipping, and quality control teams to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience operating leveling machines, roll leveling equipment, or similar metal processing machinery preferred.
• Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and production specifications.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Experience using precision measuring tools.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
