Advanced Practice Provider, Gastroenterology

OverviewOverview:In accordance with professional standards of care and adhering to the corporate philosophy of OSF Medical Group (OSFMG), the Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant is responsible for:Gastroenterology care, including comprehensive GI?focused assessments, daily rounding, histories and physicals, new consults, admissions, and dischargesSupport a rapidly growing GI service line, providing clinical partnership to the full?time gastroenterologist as procedure volume and patient demand continue to expandAssist in managing gastroenterology patients in the clinic, helping ensure timely access, continuity of care, and high?quality follow?upProvide inpatient rounding support on GI consults as needed to maintain efficient workflow and comprehensive patient managementCollaborate with colorectal surgery by assisting with GI?related office visits and supporting endoscopic care needs within the scope of practiceDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with attending gastroenterologists and colorectal surgeonsPrepare patients for endoscopic or interventional GI procedures, manage post?procedure care, and support smooth transitions across the continuum of careOrder and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, abdominal imaging, stool studies, and GI?specific diagnostics; prescribe medications; and document all care providedProvide patient and family education to enhance understanding of GI diagnoses, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and long?term disease managementPerform GI?related procedures alongside physicians, consistent with scope of practice and privileging (ex. paracentesis, NG tube placement, PEG tube management)Collaborative work environment with gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons, residents, advanced practice providers, dietitians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teamsFive 8-hour shifts per week, Monday - Friday, day shift, Potential for some weekends and holidays as part of the schedule.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Licensed to provide either advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act OR physician assistant services as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcoticsBLS/ACLS CertifiedGastroenterology experience preferred, new graduates will be consideredExcellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, hospital environment while maintaining patient-centered focusTotal Rewards:OSF HealthCare is dedicated to providing Mission Partners with a comprehensive and market-competitive total rewards package that includes benefits, compensation, recognition, and well-being offerings that focus on the whole person and engage with their current stage of life and career.Click hereto learn more about benefits and the total rewards at OSF.Benefits & Perks:OSF HealthCare offers a comprehensiveCompensation and Total Rewards Packagewhich includes:Generous paid time off!Vacation and holiday time off to get away and rechargeWell-being time for self-care, mission trips, or whatever makes you happy!Sick leave for you or to care for an ill-family memberCME time and dollarsHealth, life, dental, and retirement plansPaid occurrence-based malpracticeConcierge relocation servicesStudent Loan repayment counselingClinical base hourly pay range for this position: $55.20 - $63.65. This is a salaried position.Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.
