Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active RN License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic Experience Required First-Timers Travelers: Yes Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Description: Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required. Epic system experience is necessary for this position. Candidates must possess ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Experience in a Level II Trauma setting is required. Candidates will float within their scope of practice to meet facility needs. They must be prepared to provide nursing care in Med/Tele, Progressive Care, and emergency situations as needed. They will handle patient management in a variety of medical situations, including postoperative care and high-acuity nursing interventions. The patient-to-nurse ratio will generally be 3:1. The unit will typically have a daily census of around 26 patients. Candidates are expected to provide patient-centered care for adult and geriatric populations. They will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical and respiratory therapists, and social services. Responsibilities include medication administration, assessments, care planning, and patient education. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage complex patient conditions and utilize critical thinking to enhance patient outcomes. Skills in accessing and managing ports, central lines, and various care protocols are essential. Experience in telemetry monitoring and interpreting dysrhythmias is required. Bringing expertise in managing patients with chronic illnesses, trauma, and surgical recovery is critical. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are crucial in this role. A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality care is expected. Candidates must be adept in handling emergencies and demonstrating strong clinical judgment in fast-paced environments.
