About the Position

Job Title: RN - Labor and Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, NRP, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate EFM, Certification in CST Must-Have: Candidates must have 2 years of experience in High Risk OB for RNs. Candidates must have current certification in Advanced EFM/AWHONN Intermediate EFM. Description: This is a contracted RN position in Labor and Delivery. Shift hours are from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. No on-call requirements. The unit has 12 labor delivery rooms, 5 antepartum beds, and 4 OB emergency delivery rooms. There are 3 operating rooms in the unit. Patient ratios are 1:2 and 1:1 based on transition and acuity. The staff consists of 72 positions including nursing, surgical technologists, and schedulers. The day shift includes 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, 2 surgical technologists, and 1 scheduler. The night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, 1 surgical technologist, and 1 scheduler. Typical procedures performed include C-sections, spontaneous vaginal deliveries, D&C, D&E, twin deliveries, and scheduled and non-scheduled emergent surgeries. Experience with massive transfusions and placenta accreta spectrum disorders is preferred. Candidates should be highly engaged, motivated, and maintain a positive outlook in all interactions and procedures. The dress code requires sky blue scrubs. Scheduling is based on self-scheduling among team members. The staff is described as highly engaged and team-oriented. There is a good mix of tenured staff and newer nurses. Physician engagement is strong, and relationships with staff are positive. The management team is also highly engaged and rounds frequently on night shifts and weekends.
