Production Operator

Location: Roanoke, VA (On-site)
Type: Contract / Temporary
Schedule: 1st shift — Mon–Thu, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (10-hour days). OT on Fridays as needed.
Pay Rate: $18.50/hour

Overview

We’re hiring a Production Operator to support day-to-day manufacturing/production operations while maintaining strong safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment safely and according to established procedures
• Perform daily production tasks, basic preventive maintenance, and process data collection/documentation
• Report safety/quality/process issues to the shift lead/supervisor and support investigations as needed
• Support continuous improvement efforts and participate in team meetings
• Perform production support functions including (as trained/needed):
• • Tank wash / equipment cleaning
  • Material staging / pre-kit / material coordination
  • Fill-off / transferring finished product into containers and labeling
  • Batch-making support
  • General housekeeping of work areas

Requirements (Must Have)

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a forklift test and obtain certification
• Ability to follow safety instructions, read/apply accurate labels, and measure/weigh accurately
• Ability to lift/handle materials up to ~75 lbs and perform physical work (standing/walking for long periods)
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that may include temperature changes and exposure to chemical agents
• PPE required: long sleeves, long pants, and steel-toe footwear

Preferred

• Prior manufacturing experience (paint manufacturing a plus)
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
• Strong communication/interpersonal skills; able to work independently and multitask
