What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) , you will:

• Assist individuals with personal care, hygiene, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, housekeeping, and other daily living activities.
• Support individuals in achieving personal goals and maximizing independence.
• Implement Individual Habilitation Plans (IHPs), service plans, and behavioral support plans.
• Teach and reinforce daily living, social, communication, and adaptive skills.
• Administer medications and implement prescribed healthcare programs in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and report changes in health, behavior, or overall well-being.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
• Provide transportation and accompany individuals to appointments, employment sites, recreational activities, and community events.
• Encourage meaningful community participation and social engagement.
• Complete accurate documentation of services, incidents, and individual progress.
• Participate in training programs, team meetings, and collaborative service planning.

QualificationsRequired

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to complete all required training and certification requirements
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Commitment to providing high-quality, person-centered services

Preferred

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field
• Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, behavioral health, or other special needs
• Experience implementing individualized service or behavioral support plans

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Schedule based on program and staffing needs
• May include evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Flexible availability may be required to support individuals served

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist with up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and assist individuals throughout the workday
• Ability to travel within the community as needed
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
