Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a collaborative Trauma Surgery team in Denver, CO. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced trauma surgeons in a Level I Trauma Center and fast-paced academic teaching environment. The position focuses primarily on inpatient trauma and acute surgical care, with opportunities to develop additional skills in ICU procedures and OR assistance.

147 shifts annually

12-hour shifts

Primarily inpatient Trauma Surgery coverage

Approximately 3–4 outpatient clinic hours per week

Flexible scheduling built approximately 3 months in advance

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient care to trauma and acute surgical patients.

Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and monitor clinical progress.

Assist with the management of high-acuity trauma and surgical cases.

Perform procedures within scope of practice and hospital privileges.

Assist in the OR as needed.

Participate in rounds, patient education, discharge planning, and care coordination.

Collaborate with trauma surgeons, residents, nursing, critical care, and other multidisciplinary teams.

Provide limited outpatient clinic coverage as scheduled.

Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.

Requirements

Active Colorado NP or PA license, or ability to obtain.

1–2 years of Trauma Surgery experience preferred.
