Classroom Teacher (K-5)-Nature Based Learning

Classroom Teacher (K-5)-Nature Based Learning Position Summary: River Grove Charter School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Teacher to join our K–5 team. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and engaging classroom environment that fosters academic growth, social-emotional development, and a love of learning. This teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and support staff to provide meaningful learning experiences aligned with Minnesota Academic Standards while incorporating outdoor and experiential learning opportunities whenever possible. Essential Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction for elementary students Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom culture Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and abilities Integrate social-emotional learning and relationship-building into daily practice Utilize outdoor and nature-based learning experiences as part of instruction Assess student progress and communicate effectively with families Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and school initiatives Participate in school events, professional development, and team meetings Maintain accurate student records and uphold all school policies and procedures Qualifications Required: Valid Minnesota teaching license Strong classroom management and communication skills Commitment to equity, inclusion, and whole-child education Ability to work collaboratively in a small school environment Preferred: Elementary Education K–6 licensure Experience teaching in elementary settings Interest or experience in nature-based, environmental, or experiential education Knowledge of restorative practices and trauma-informed teaching Experience with project-based or hands‑on learning approaches Institution Description About River Grove Charter School: River Grove is a public, tuition-free K–5 charter school located near Stillwater, Minnesota, in the beautiful St. Croix River Valley.
