Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler builds, assembles, and troubleshoots industrial pumps and related machinery using a wide range of hand and power tools. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, fabricating metal components, and ensuring that all assemblies meet quality and performance standards. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within a small, highly collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble pumps and related machinery using engineering drawings and blueprints
• Read schematics to plan and sequence assembly
• Install and align mechanical components (shafts, bearings, levers, fasteners)
• Fabricate and modify metal parts as needed (cutting, drilling, welding, grinding)
• Use hand and power tools to assemble, inspect, and test completed units
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and ensure quality and safety standards
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience assembling industrial or automotive machinery
• Strong mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills (pumps or rotating equipment preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
• Hands-on fabrication experience (cutting, drilling, tapping, grinding, basic welding)
• Proficient with hand and power tools
• Skilled using measuring and inspection tools (calipers, rulers, gauges)
• Able to accurately align and assemble moving components (shafts, bearings, levers)
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and precision
• Fabrication experience
• Testing and Troubleshooting experience

Work Environment

The role is based in a very clean, well-organized shop that manufactures industrial processing equipment used in pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food, and chemical applications, specifically within the pumps division. The facility employs approximately 60 people, with a small assembly group of about two assemblers, fostering a close, collaborative work setting. Standard hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime available as needed. The work involves regular use of hand and power tools, fabrication equipment, and precision measuring instruments in a modern industrial environment where safety, cleanliness, and quality are top priorities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of EXTON, PA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in EXTON,PA.
