Collections Specialist - Bloomsburg

Journey Bank, a strong, independent community bank with over $1 Billion in assets and 290 employees headquartered in Bloomsburg PA, seeks full-time Collections Specialist in our Lightstreet, Bloomsburg Office. As part of the Collections Team, this position reports to the Loan Operations Director. Our ideal candidate will have an Associate's Degree in Business or a related field and have specialized collection education/training with a minimum of three (3) years' related experience.

Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to:

1. Responsible for supporting the Collections department by effectively collecting past-due loans.
2. Maximize the recovery of financial resources related to the problem loan accounts.
3. Contributes to the soundness of the loan portfolio through prompt collection of delinquent accounts.
4. Conducts periodic audits of floor plans.
5. Achieve goals assigned to the Collections Specialist as part of the assigned department's annual operating plan.
6. Cooperates with the adherence to all internal policies, procedures and practices.
7. Coordinate tasks withing the department as well as with other departments to ensure the flow of information.
8. Maintain appropriate records and provides assigned reports.

Requirements: Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; thorough knowledge of collection procedures and regulations; working knowledge of purchasing and inventory control systems and procedures; moderate PC skills; ability to lift items weighing 50 lbs. or less; visual and auditory skills, valid driver's license.

Education & Experience: Associate's degree in business or other related field preferred; a minimum of three (3) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Work hours are Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week. We provide a competitive compensation and excellent benefit package including 401(k) with company match, paid holidays and vacation.
