As the largest and one of the most established nephrology practices in the region, RMA is committed to improving outcomes for patients with kidney disease through early intervention, coordinated care, and advanced treatment options.We are seeking a Nephrology Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about making a measurable impact—not just treating disease but transforming lives.Position OverviewThe Nephrology NP plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, coordinated kidney care across outpatient clinics, dialysis units, and hospital settings. This position supports RMA's mission to improve patient outcomes, reduce barriers to care, and enhance the referral experience for providers.Key Responsibilities:Evaluate and manage patients with CKD, ESRD, hypertension, electrolyte disorders, nephrolithiasis, and other renal-related conditionsDevelop proactive care plans focused on slowing disease progressionOptimize medication management and patient outcomesProvide timely follow-up and continuity of careSupport smoother transitions between clinic, hospital, and dialysis settingsPatient Education & AdvocacyEducate patients and families on kidney disease, treatment options, and lifestyle modificationsProvide counseling on dialysis modalities and transplant readinessSupport patients' emotional and psychosocial needsSupport Dialysis & Advanced TherapiesConduct dialysis rounds (in-center and home modalities)Manage vascular access issues and dialysis-related complicationsEducate patients on home dialysis and transplant optionsDevelop and implement individualized treatment care plansCare CoordinationCollaborate with nephrologists, nurses, dietitians, and social workersCoordinate care for patients with multiple comorbidities (e.g., diabetes, hypertension)Facilitate referrals and ensure continuity of careQualifications:RequiredMaster's or Doctorate in Nursing (MSN or DNP)Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of New Mexico (or eligibility)National board certification (AANP, ANCC, or equivalent)DEA license and prescriptive authorityWork EnvironmentOutpatient nephrology clinicsDialysis centers (in-center and home modalities)Hospital rounding (as applicable)Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salaryCME allowance & professional development supportComprehensive benefits packageMalpractice coverageWork-life balance with structured scheduling
