White Collar Crime and Investigations Associate

A leading international law firm is seeking a 4th to 7th year associate with strong experience in government enforcement defense and internal investigations to join its highly regarded litigation and investigations practice. The team represent clients in criminal and regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings by the DOJ, SEC, CFTC, Federal Reserve, FinCEN, CFPB, BIS, OFAC, New York State DFS, state attorneys general and district attorneys, the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority and the U.K. Serious Fraud Office, among others. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious litigator to work on high-profile, complex matters with significant client exposure and sophisticated institutional clients. Responsibilities: Represent clients in government enforcement investigations and related litigation. Assist with complex internal investigations involving companies, executives and boards of directors. Advise clients on enforcement-related risks and compliance matters. Conduct legal research and develop sophisticated legal strategies. Draft motions, briefs, memoranda and other complex legal documents. Analyze government inquiries, investigative findings and regulatory issues. Assist with whistleblower complaints and related investigations. Represent clients before federal, state and local government agencies. Work closely with senior attorneys and clients on sensitive and high-stakes matters. Assist public and private companies and financial institutions with compliance programs and enforcement-related issues. Qualifications: 4–7 years of legal experience from a global peer law firm Experience in government enforcement defense, internal investigations and/or compliance counseling. Strong writing and analytical skills. Excellent legal research and drafting abilities. Strong academic credentials from a top law school. Experience dealing with government agencies and regulatory investigations preferred. Excellent judgment and ability to handle sensitive, high-stakes matters. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a sophisticated litigation and investigations team. Admitted to the California bar Competitive annual compensation of $310,000–$420,000 , depending on experience and seniority.
