Personal Banker

Position Summary

The Personal Banker is responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships by identifying financial needs and recommending appropriate banking products and services. This role combines customer service sales and basic financial guidance while ensuring compliance with all Bank policies procedures and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of related banking retail sales customer service or financial services experience preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service and Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive outreach including telephone and in-person interactions.
• Identify customer financial needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services.
• Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries resolving service issues and assisting with account maintenance and electronic banking services.
• Assist customers in obtaining specialized services from other Bank departments and follow through to ensure customer satisfaction.

Sales and Business Development

• Participate actively in the Banks business development and sales initiatives.
• Meet individual and branch performance goals related to deposits consumer products and referrals.
• Identify opportunities for cross-selling and referrals to other departments including lending trust and investment services.
• Support consumer lending activities by identifying opportunities assisting with applications and facilitating appropriate referrals.

Account Opening and Maintenance

• Open and maintain consumer deposit accounts including checking savings certificates of deposit and related products.
• Ensure all account documentation and point-of-sale processing are accurate and complete.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of Bank products services policies and procedures.

Branch Operations

• Work collaboratively with branch management and team members to achieve branch goals and objectives.
• Coordinate work activities with branch personnel and other departments to ensure efficient operations and a positive customer experience.
• Provide timely and accurate sales and service activity information for reports and performance tracking.
• Serve as a Teller when required and within established training and competency levels.
• Respond to customer and employee inquiries within established service standards and Bank policies.

Reporting and Compliance

• Report information to supervisors as requested and provide data to appropriate Bank personnel.
• Adhere to all Bank policies procedures and regulatory requirements including:
  • Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations
  • Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements
  • Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)
  • Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA)
  • Other applicable banking regulations

Attendance

• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Work schedules and hours are determined by management and may be modified based on organizational needs.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Support departmental and organizational initiatives as directed by management.
