Lead Environmental Services Technician

Overview

We are seeking aLead Environmental Services Technician, also referred to as an Environmental Services Lead Technician, Housekeeping Lead or Lead EVS Tech. The Lead EVS Tech maintains a clean, safe, and infection-controlled environment while overseeing and guiding a team of EVS staff. The Lead EVS Tech will ensure that patient rooms, operating rooms, and other critical areas meet strict cleanliness and safety standards, especially related to infection prevention.

Shift’s Available: Evenings

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours: 3 :00pm to 11:30pm

Location: St Mary's Medical Center– Blue Springs. MO

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Supervise and support EVS staff during shifts by assigning tasks, training new employees, and monitoring work quality

• Inspect patient rooms, ORs, and high-risk areas for proper sanitation, infection control compliance, and readiness

• Perform cleaning and disinfection tasks in sensitive areas such as isolation rooms, operating rooms, and emergency departments

• Respond to urgent cleaning needs like blood/body fluid spills or room turnovers for admissions and discharges

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, OSHA standards, and Joint Commission requirements

• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting needs or malfunctions

• Communicate with nursing and clinical teams to coordinate cleaning schedules with patient care activities

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• A minimum of 1-year Housekeeping experience in hospital setting

• Familiarity with chemical sanitizers and general housekeeping functions

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• Familiarity with Joint Commission requirements, preferred
