General Manager

The General Manager is responsible for achieving Harmonie Club's profitability, member and guest satisfaction through revenue generation, cost control and Board of Governor collaboration, while maintaining the integrity of the Club.

The Harmonie Club is a special oasis in the heart of Manhattan for discerning members to enjoy dining, social events, athletic facilities, diverse programming, and camaraderie. We offer a workspace with complimentary coffee and wifi on weekdays and a historic clubhouse that features a beautiful oak-paneled dining room with gold-leaf ceiling and antique Caldwell chandeliers, timeless ballrooms for special events and corporate gatherings, and a welcoming atmosphere that many members enjoy as their home away from home.

Responsibilities include touring the operating departments daily, conducting weekly staff meetings, meeting financial reporting requirements, holding monthly financial reviews, developing managers for future advancement, inspecting the property regularly, ensuring complete processing of invoices daily, ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property, ensuring employees are attentive, friendly, courteous and efficient in their interactions, preparing and conducting management interviews, motivating, coaching, counseling and disciplining all management personnel, meeting members on the property, ensuring procedures for handling of the Club's safe are followed, conducting monthly credit meetings, completing required corporate training modules, ensuring all scheduled meetings take place on the property, ensuring all bartenders are TIPs certified, ensuring all required licenses, permits and certificates are obtained, and performing any other duties as requested by the Vice President or Regional Director of Operations.

Qualifications include at least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience. Light work is required, maintaining a warm and friendly demeanor at all times, effective communication both verbally and written, multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions to meet deadlines, attending all Club and Board required meetings and trainings, maintaining regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, complying with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient Club operations, effective problem handling, understanding and evaluating complex information, and maintaining confidentiality of information.
