Route Supervisor

divh2Route Supervisor/h2pThe Route Supervisor is responsible for directing the daily activities of drivers and helpers in order to provide safe, effective and courteous waste collection services to customers. The incumbent will ride with a driver during his/her scheduled route to identify opportunities for enhanced operating efficiencies, accurate billing, opportunities for increases in service and potential safety hazards./pp#INDSJ/ph2Key Responsibilities/h2ulliRides with assigned driver on a designated commercial and/or residential route to gather data such as travel times, disposal volumes, service and collection times, and accuracy of the route sheet in an effort to increase efficiency, reduce cost, improve revenue and reduce safety hazards./liliEnsures the proper usage of the OBC and OBC back office to help achieve the divisions efficiency, safety, and customer service goals./liliProvides recommendations for improvement in route scheduling, service capabilities or other changes based on findings during on-route observations./liliCoordinates and provides cross training to drivers to ensure proper coverage when employees are out due to vacation or sickness./liliCollaborates with customer service and sales to achieve service quality and responsiveness to highly demanding customers./liliSupervises and coaches drivers on pre and post trip inspections, and training/re-training of new and existing drivers when necessary./liliManages and provides leadership to team members by effectively communicating, establishing clear goals and objectives, coaching team members on achieving goals, and ensuring access to training and development opportunities that assist employees in attaining the necessary skills to achieve team and corporate results./liliParticipates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values./liliEnsures compliance with all company, state, and federal policies, regulations, and laws regarding employment and employee safety./li/ulh2Education, Experience Qualifications/h2pThe successful candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid class A or B CDL drivers license, 2-4 years of commercial driving experience, and a clean driving record. The incumbent must have a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment and experience in a customer-facing position./ppStrong commitment to workplace safety and DOT regulations, outstanding relationship management skills, and an ability to measure and review productivity standards are required. Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft products are necessary./ppAlthough not required, 1-2 years of supervisory experience is preferred./ph2Attributes/h2pPositive and supportive individual who is, attentive, observant, and results-oriented with the ability to see the larger picture while focusing on detailed information.
