Our company is currently seeking a Stormdrain, Water and Sewer Pipe Layer to support projects in the Columbia/Lexington areas. They are responsible for installing, aligning, and joining storm drainage and sanitary sewer pipes according to project plans and specifications. This position plays a critical role in underground utility construction, ensuring safe accurate placement of pipelines in trenches. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Install storm water, sanitary sewer, and other underground piping systems, using a variety of pipe materials (e.g., RCP, PVC, HDPE) Read and interpret blueprints, job site drawings, and grade stakes to determine pipe placement and elevation. Check slopes and pipe alignment using, lasers, levels, and transits. Cut pipes to required lengths and fit pipe segments together using hand tools or heavy equipment. Ensure proper sealing, and back filling of pipe trenches. Operate or assist in operating trenching machines, and other related equipment. Follow safety procedures for confined spaces and trench safety. Communicate effectively with foreman, equipment operators, and crew members. Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
