Job Title: Med Surg/Tele RN

Description:
The unit has 24 beds with Med Surg and Tele capability on all beds.
The focus is heavy on Telemetry.
Patients include adults and pediatric cases, but travelers will not take pediatric patients as they are assigned to permanent staff.
Candidates must be strong in Neuro and Cardiac skills.
Two years of nursing experience is required.
ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
PALS certification is preferred.
Shifts are 12 hours with a guaranteed 36 hours per week, allowing for 3 cancellations.
The electronic medical record system used is Sunrise Allscripts.
Support staff on the unit includes telemetry technicians, charge nurses, health unit coordinators, and patient care technicians.
Nurse to patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 during the night.
There is also a specific ratio for pediatric patients, which is 1:4, depending on the level of acuity.
Nurse managers do not provide patient care but do conduct rounds.
Traveling nurses may float to all medical-surgical units and ICU settings, taking overflow patients.
Hospitalists are in-house 24/7.
There is no IV team available.
Respiratory therapists and pharmacy services are also available 24/7.
Scrub colors can be any color except for all black.
Scrubs are not provided.
