Warehouse Gas Cylinder Filler and Material Handler

Job Description

This role supports safe and efficient gas cylinder operations in a warehouse environment by filling high- and low-pressure gas cylinders and liquid containers, accurately labeling and handling them, and loading and unloading trucks. The position combines hands-on production work, material handling, and general warehouse duties to ensure accurate, timely, and safe movement of gas products.

Responsibilities

  • Fill all gas cylinders, including high-pressure, low-pressure, and liquid containers, in accordance with established safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret cylinder labels and tank color codes to correctly identify gas types, hazards, and cylinder contents.
  • Accurately label cylinders to ensure proper identification, traceability, and compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Load and unload trucks with gas cylinders and related materials using appropriate equipment and safe handling techniques.
  • Handle, move, and stage cylinders and materials throughout the warehouse using carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
  • Perform general warehouse and production tasks such as packing, packaging, palletizing, and preparing orders for shipment.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities, including checking, labeling, and organizing incoming and outgoing products.
  • Maintain accurate inventory through careful picking, order picking, and material handling practices.
  • Lift, push, and maneuver heavy cylinders and containers, including pushing carts with 200+ lb cylinders and lifting containers of 50+ lbs as needed.
  • Follow all safety guidelines for handling gases, operating equipment, and working in a warehouse environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards to support safe and efficient warehouse operations.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the gas or welding industry as a warehouse worker or driver.
  • Proven ability to safely operate a forklift in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Experience with loading and unloading trucks and handling materials in a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to push carts loaded with 200+ lb cylinders and to bend and lift containers weighing 50+ lbs.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting labels and color codes on cylinders or similar products.
  • Experience with general labor and material handling tasks, including picking, packing, and palletizing.
  • Ability to work in a production-oriented warehouse environment while following strict safety procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as a material handler, warehouse worker, or in general production roles.
  • Background in shipping and receiving, including order picking, warehouse packing, and labeling.
  • Comfort using pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment in addition to forklifts.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as packaging, labeling, and order preparation with attention to detail.
  • Capacity for heavy lifting and physically demanding work throughout the shift.
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and willingness to support various warehouse and production tasks as needed.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment that focuses on gas cylinder handling and production activities. Work is performed on-site, primarily standing, walking, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, providing consistent daytime hours. Personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear with metatarsal protection, is required to support a safe workplace. Forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other warehouse tools and equipment are used regularly to handle and move heavy cylinders and related materials.

This is a Contract position based out of Albuquerque, NM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
