About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Managing Director of Development for University Advancement. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of up to twelve development officers, overseeing the entire fundraising process within the territory, and ensuring the team meets its annual metrics. This role involves creating and fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork, as well as managing a small donor caseload. The Senior Managing Director will also assist in executing the annual fundraising strategy, ensuring that frontline fundraisers are effectively assigned to maximize success, and will be evaluated on the total territory metrics and talent development. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years' of relevant experience, with a preference for those with a background in development within a complex university or national non-profit organization. The role requires significant experience in major gift solicitation, capital prospect management, and supervisory roles. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to higher education and its advancement, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse constituents. Skills in complex systems, deadline management, and organizational development are also desirable. The Senior Managing Director will be expected to have a proven track record in planning and managing capital development projects and campaigns.
