We are looking for a dedicated Ortho Trauma, Specialty Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our Fairfax team. This role will be full-time from Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 4:00 (4 day work week, no nights, no weekends)Inova Orthopedic Services leads the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC metro area in helping people with arthritis, orthopedic illness, trauma or injury to regain their active lifestyles. The APP will collaborate with attending orthopedic surgeons, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum – including the emergency department, operating room, inpatient units, and outpatient clinics.Level 1 Trauma Center: Responding to full/modified trauma activations with known orthopedic injuriesPerform comprehensive orthopedic assessments, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation.First-assist in the operating room and perform orthopedic procedures (e.g., reductions, traction pins, casting, splinting, bedside I&Ds when needed, and wound care).Respond to consults, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care in collaboration with the orthopedic team, within appropriate time framesDocument care in the EMR, complete inpatient discharges, and ensure appropriate follow-up.Participate in daily rounds, trauma meetings, and interdisciplinary collaboration.Educate patients, families, and support training of residents or students as needed.Maintain licensure, certifications, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.Participate in fracture conferences, M&M presentations, journal clubs, and research sessions along residents and attendingsPrimarily inpatient coverage with limited outpatient coverage of clinicOrthopedic Trauma Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Minimun Requirements:Work Schedule: Full-Time, 4 days per week, 10 hour shiftsEducation: Masters Degree and Graduate of an accredited NP or PA programCertification: Board certified (ACNP or NCCPA certification), BLS, Virginia License, Viginia DEAPayer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payorMedical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required servicesPreferred Qualifications:1+ year experience of Ortho Trauma APP experienceAbout Inova Health We are Inova, Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
