CNC Machinist III - Precision Parts, 2nd Shift

Our Collins York site in NE manufactures precision components for commercial and military customers, including generators and Ram Air Turbines that support aircraft emergency power generation. Collins York is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will operate CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and other specialized equipment to convert raw materials into precision semi‑finished goods. You will also perform finish work and marking on pieces at various stages of production. All work is done in a clean, climate‑controlled facility where safety and quality are paramount. What You Will Do Set up and run CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and other specialized CNC and manual equipment. Set up and run machines on a wide variety of operations involving multiple machines that convert raw materials to precision semi‑finished goods within print tolerance specification. Obtain inspection certification through on‑the‑job training and testing. Work the 2nd shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm. Complete training schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm for approximately 90 days. What You Will Learn Experience with CNC machines. Cross‑functional collaboration with various manufacturing and processes. Experience with inspection equipment. Qualifications You Must Have HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Qualifications We Prefer Experience with measurement equipment such as gauges, calipers, etc. Experience with basic hand tools. Experience with computer and multiple computer applications (including email, internet, and other job‑specific applications). Math skills, including addition and subtraction of decimals. Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints. Experience setting up and running CNC lathes/mills. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
