Radiology Operator

Job Description Join Essentia Health's Diagnostic Imaging and Lab Team! We are seeking an X‑Ray Operator to support our Imaging and Lab departments at the following clinics: West Duluth, Hermantown, Lakewalk, Proctor, and Lakeside. Key Responsibilities Perform supervised and unsupervised X‑ray exams in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Provide optimal patient care using established techniques when administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic imaging suitable for all ages. Limit exams on small children and infants based on documented competency approved by a manager or QA technician. Safely transfer patients to and from wheelchairs or carts with proper handoff. Assist workflow by completing exams on EPIC/PACS, cleaning, and stocking exam rooms. Follow instructions from staff technologists and maintain effective communication with other departments. Collect specimens via venipuncture or capillary skin puncture and other miscellaneous specimens (urine, swabs, etc.). Process and handle specimens according to testing requirements to support clinical laboratory testing. Perform laboratory testing when applicable, adhering to accreditation and licensure requirements. Participate in training new employees, students, and other personnel as appropriate. Follow Essentia Health rules and policies when handling specimens and equipment to ensure safety and quality. Educational Requirements High School Diploma. Graduate from a Medical Laboratory Assistant Program or complete an internal MLA training program within one year of hire. Licensure/Certification Qualifications Minnesota: Valid MN Department of Health X‑ray Operator certificate within one year of hire or transfer. Wisconsin: Current Limited X‑ray machine operator permit through the Wisconsin Society of Radiologic Technologists within one year of hire or transfer. North Dakota: Current Limited X‑ray Machine Operator licensure through the North Dakota Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDBMIRT). Benefits Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance.
