This role will also help employees with any questions about their pay, stepping up as the friendly neighborhood payroll guru. Basically, They're the payroll wizard-minus the magic wand! About Stinker Founded in 1936, Stinker is everyone's first choice for work, convenience, food, family, and fun! Located across Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming, Stinker is a family-owned, people-focused convenience leader. Led by our Skunktastik Mascot, Polecat Pete, Stinker's purpose is to make our world a better place by being a bright spot in the lives we touch- one employee, one customer, and one community at a time. Plus, we don't take ourselves too seriously- come on, we have a skunk as a mascot! We look for opportunities to have fun each day and ensure we make decisions that put our people first. Now, what's in it for you when you join Pete's Posse? Well, not only do you get to work with an amazing crew, but you also get a whole bunch of perks that makes life smell even sweeter. We're all about taking care of our people, and here's how we do it:
- Competitive Pay with merit-based raises, and profit sharing twice a year- because when the company does well, we celebrate with you!
- Access to the DailyPay app- so you can access your hard-earned cash whenever life strikes, in advance of regular paydays.
- 7 paid holidays a year.
- Paid Time Off (PTO) that grows with your tenure, so the longer you're with us, the more time you get to relax!
- Referral Rewards-you can earn cash by referring friends to join the Stinker team, if your friend gets hired! Your friends get a great job, and you get a sweet reward!
- Health Benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and options for a Health Savings Account (HSA) to help you save for healthcare costs or a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for medical and dependent care expenses, as well as accident coverage and optional life insurance. Free Virtual Medical Services if enrolled in medical, so you can handle minor health issues from the comfort of your home.
- 401(k) with a skunktastic 25% discretionary company match, because we want to help you build a secure future!
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to help you with life's challenges- whether it's managing stress, tackling financial issues, or navigating legal questions, the EAP provides support.
- Run the payroll show for 1,000+ employees across multiple companies, handling bi-weekly pay, monthly bonuses, and even those surprise weekly payrolls that sneak in.
- Manage the payroll workflow, ensuring every transaction is processed like clockwork. You're the conductor of the payroll train-no delays on your watch!
- Reconcile payroll like a detective, double-checking everything before sending it out to make sure no one's paycheck gets lost in the digital ether.
- Be the tax guru for employer-paid benefits, ensuring everything is taxed properly so we don't end up in a stinky situation with the IRS.
- Master the art of time and attendance processing in ADP (WFMgr), seamlessly syncing it with payroll like a well-oiled machine.
- Take charge of garnishment payments, processing and requesting them like a pro. After each bi-weekly payroll run, you'll balance those accounts and make sure everything is submitted on time.
- Deal with unemployment claims when they pop up.
- Quarterly reporting to various agencies.
- Take on other HR administrative tasks, because why not add a little extra variety to your payroll adventures?
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, able to work with and through others to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to learn new concepts and stay organized, maintaining a high level of attention to detail while multitasking in a deadline driven environment (there are a lot of moving pieces and skunks headed in every direction!).
- Willing to act as an agent for change; being flexible and patient, open to suggestions, and a keen eye for opportunities to improve processes.
- Ability to make quick decisions and keep management in the loop, while rolling with the punches to keep projects on track and escalating any issues to leadership when necessary.
- Solution focused thinking- You get 5 minutes to complain, then we kick tail!
- Be an HR dictionary - you know the lingo well enough that you could teach a class on "How to Speak HR without Looking Confused.".
- You can handle writing an email, chatting with coworkers, or making phone calls with style (and mostly no awkwardness- it happens to the best of us!).
- Able to handle tasks with minimal handholding and know how to collaborate with others to get things done.
- Dependable, reliable, flexible, quick - you're like a Swiss army knife but with patience and a smile, always ready to adapt and roll with the punches.
- Maintain confidentiality better than Grandma guards her cookie recipe from the neighbors.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 2 years of payroll processing experience.
- Must be an Excel wiz and proficient in the use and operation of computers and standard office equipment.
- Know the ins and outs of federal, state, and county payroll rules like the back of your hand.
- Have payroll best practices down to a science and can handle garnishments and unemployment processing without breaking a sweat.
- Bonus if you've played around with ADP Lyric and WFMgr-if not, no worries, you'll pick it up faster than we can say "payroll run!".
- Must be comfortable working in an office environment surrounded by furry friends (that's right, we're dog friendly!).
- Work is performed under normal office working conditions in a temperature-controlled environment, may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
- Occasionally requires more than a 40-hour work week to meet deadlines.
