Details Med/Surg unit with 24-26 beds across Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist campuses Patient ratios of 1:4-6 on days and 1:5-6 on nights Patient population includes general, gyn, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT cases Heparin drips/titrations administered Uses Epic EMR Night shift, 4x12s, 48 hrs/week (36 hrs/week can be accommodated if preferred) Every other weekend required No on-call requirements Floating required across all campuses and like units when needed Requirements Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required at time of consideration Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg experience in a hospital or medical center setting required Patient care experience required in general, gyn, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT Heparin drip/titration experience required Epic EMR experience required Current Level II trauma experience required Level I trauma experience preferred Must have completed at least one travel contract within the past 24 months Driver's license required for consideration Additional Information Provide direct patient care to a diverse Med/Surg population including surgical and specialty cases Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Holiday coverage required for 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed Navy blue solid-colored scrubs (tops and bottoms) required Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred Past UPH employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible for travel assignments in other markets within 12 months of separation First-time travelers will not be considered for this position American Traveler Job ID P-750635.
