Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced CVOR RN for an urgent assignment lasting approximately 13-16 weeks. The role involves cardiovascular and open heart surgery procedures in a large academic hospital setting, requiring flexibility and quick integration into the team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform circulating duties for CVOR surgeries, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care in a high-volume, teaching hospital environment.
• Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesia, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate efficient surgeries.
• Maintain accurate documentation within electronic medical records, specifically Epic.
• Adapt to floating across various OR specialties, including general, ortho, neuro, and ENT, as needed.
• Support patient care during scheduled call shifts and holiday coverage, including weekends.

Qualifications:

• Hold valid BLS certification; CNOR preferred.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent OR RN experience, with high competency in CVOR and open heart procedures.
• Demonstrate prior travel experience with large, academic hospitals.
• Exhibit strong knowledge of Epic EMR systems within the past 2 years.
• Be flexible with schedule adjustments to meet unit and patient needs.
• Have reliable transportation, with vehicles equipped for winter months.
