Materials Handler

Material HandlerThe Material Handler is responsible for physically picking, inspecting, and packing production line kits by hand. Materials vary in size and weight and require frequent walking, pulling, bending, twisting, and kneeling in a safe and efficient manner.Essential FunctionsSelects materials according to order sheet.Packs materials safely and neatly in tubs.Inspects materials for damage, contamination, or discoloration.Completes assigned paperwork accurately.Checks system for inventory and orders backordering materials.Restocks material storage locations daily.All other duties as assignedExperience/QualificationsMinimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or EquivalentKnowledge, Skills, and AbilityExcellent attention to detailExperience operating a lift truck and or parts picker is a plusComplies with all safety policies and proceduresTravel RequirementsN/APhysical RequirementsLight lifting, under 20 lbs.Light carrying, under 20 lbs.Moderate lifting, 21-59 lbs.Moderate carrying, 21 – 59 lbs.Straight pullingPushingRepeated bendingReaching over shouldersUse of fingersWalkingStandingKneelingRepeated stretchingSpecific visual requirementsAbility to distinguish basic colorsAbility to distinguish shades of colorHearing (aid permitted)Frequently lift, push, and slide packages that weigh between 50-70 poundsWork EnvironmentOutside and insideExtreme heatExtreme humidityExtreme noise, intermittentDustFumes, smoke, or gassesSolvents (degreasing agents)Slippery or uneven walking surfacesIndependent JudgementPerforms tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation.
