The purpose of this center is to coordinate and document care via telemedicine and facilitate the concierge and event medicine practice. Most calls are inbound from ships, aircraft, and remote sites/bases around the globe. In addition, the communications center serves as a single point of contact for our event and concierge medical practices./ppWe are currently seeking an Operations Specialist-EMT for all shifts. Night shift receives a differential on top of advertised pay band. The primary purpose of this position is to staff the communications center, however, this position can also be used to staff events for medical standby coverage./ppAs an Operations Specialist-EMT you will need to:/pulliFacilitate telemedical interactions between patients/clients and medical providers/liliDocument and accurately scribe medical communications/liliFollow up with patients/clients as needed/liliWork toward solutions to client issues in a timely and appropriate manner/liliPrioritize job duties while utilizing excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude./liliBe a nationally certified EMT with current CPR for healthcare providers (AHA, ASHE)/liliBe deft at computers and typing/liliPerforms intake of initial demographic data/liliBe confident in their medical terminology/liliWork within standard operating procedures and follow defined algorithms/liliBelieve in customer service/liliMust have excellent verbal and written communication skills/liliCooperates and communicates well with others/liliAssist in program maintenance activities/liliDemonstrate good judgment and good critical thinking skills/liliOther duties as assigned/li/ulpComplexity and Judgment/ppWork consists of a number of complex and diversified duties. The Operations Specialist-EMT makes decisions while following standard policy/procedures. A supervisor is consulted in unusual situations and/or where there is an exception to policy and standard procedure. The Communications Specialist/EMT will have contact/interaction with personnel in other departments, personnel in other departments and individuals and groups from outside the MFA./ppstrongMinimum Qualifications/strong/ppEducation/pulliA high school diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience./li/ulpLicensure/pulliCurrent and valid BLS, NREMT and AHA/ASHE CPR certification/li/ulpExperience/pulliA minimum of 1 year of experience in an emergency response position such as an EMT-B or a communications center/liliStrong working knowledge of basic computer systems, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel./li/ulpPhysical Requirements/pulliSit or stand for extended periods of time in office and field settings./liliBend, stoop, crawl, and walk on uneven surfaces./liliMust be able to move 100 pounds to a height of 4 feet and carry 100 pounds a minimum of 6 feet./liliRegularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment./li/ulpstrongAbout GW MFA/strong/ppMFA physicians provide comprehensive patient care, offering one practice for the whole person with 52 medical and surgical specialties.
