Position Overview

A Magnet-designated, nonprofit Level II Trauma Center is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse Manager to lead a large, diverse perioperative service line.

This leadership role oversees the General OR, Cardiac OR, Orthopedic OR, and Ambulatory Surgery Center , including 3 Assistant Nurse Managers and up to 120 FTEs . The Manager has responsibility for clinical operations, staffing, performance, budgets, and department strategy.

Responsibilities

Direct operations across 4 perioperative areas
Lead 3 Assistant Nurse Managers and up to 120 FTEs
Manage operating and capital budgets
Drive OR utilization, turnover, throughput, and performance improvements
Partner with surgeons, anesthesia, and hospital leadership
Develop staff through education, certification, and the Clinical Ladder
Manage performance evaluations and departmental goals

Requirements

BSN from a CCNE-accredited program required
Master's degree preferred
Active Maryland RN license
BLS certification
National certification required
3-5 years of progressive OR nursing experience
Demonstrated supervisory/leadership progression
Strong fiscal and operational management skills
