Step into an impactful role supporting elementary students as a School Psychologist for a contract opportunity covering two welcoming school campuses located within walking distance of each other. This position focuses on providing vital psychological services during a leave of absence period, helping students from preschool through grade five thrive academically and emotionally.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist certification (or eligibility) for Illinois
- Experience serving preschool through 5th grade students preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish-English) skills valued, though not required
- Capacity for conducting comprehensive assessments, writing reports, and effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills for managing variable evaluation caseloads
- Preferred ability to work in person; flexible arrangements may be considered
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform evaluations for students in preschool to 5th grade, supporting diverse learner needs across two engaging elementary campuses
- Consult with educators, families, and teams to support student welfare and learning plans
- Guide interventions and strategies that promote student acclimation, resilience, and academic achievement
- Document observations, prepare detailed reports, and contribute to eligibility and IEP meetings
- Adjust workload and schedule flexibility as the leave coverage end date may shift based on actual maternity leave timing
