Locums OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner | Burien, Washington

Availability / Coverage

• Start Date: As soon as credentialed
• Schedule: 6 24-hour call shifts per month, with possibility of additional shifts
• Availability: Strong preference for open availability without restrictions
• Holiday Availability: Must have some holiday availability
• Call Requirement: Must remain within 2030 minutes of the hospital
• Call/Sleep Room: Provided onsite

Licensure & Certifications

Required

• Board Certified Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) REQUIRED
• Active Washington License REQUIRED
• BLS REQUIRED
• DEA REQUIRED

Clinical Role

• Experienced Certified Nurse Midwife providing hospital call coverage
• Triage, manage, deliver, and discharge CNM patients at the birth center
• After-hours secondary phone triage following the answering-service consulting nurse
• Surgical first assist for all C-sections REQUIRED

Practice & Hospital Details

• Setting: Community hospital
• Trauma Level: Level III
• Annual Births: Approximately 1,200
  • Approximately half delivered by CNMs
• Anesthesia: Onsite
• Pain Management: Nitrous oxide available
• Labor: Tubs available; no water births
• Units: LDR suites and separate postpartum unit
• EMR: Epic
• Support: Shared call with OB physician and birth center RNs
• Coverage: One OB physician and one CNM on call at all times
• Reason for Coverage: Replacement while recruiting a full-time permanent CNM
