Project Manager - Engineering

Engineering Role On The Delaware Basin Gas Plants TeamThis position is for an engineering role on the Delaware Basin Gas Plants team, with main responsibilities including project execution, operations support, PSM compliance support, and facility optimization.Key responsibilities include:Providing technical support to operations (including troubleshooting, debottlenecking and optimization, maintenance projects, Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance, PHA participation and action item resolution, DOT compliance, etc.)Developing scope of work/for-bid packages for engineering, construction, and commissioning activities. Tracking/forecasting costs and milestone schedules and regularly communicating progress to project stakeholders.Embodying integrity, accountability, initiative, and respect in all correspondence and tasks performed.Sizing and specifying mechanical equipment, including separators, filters, tanks, heat exchangers, air coolers, pumps, compressors, treaters, and dehydrators. Selecting appropriate piping materials, diameters, and thicknesses to meet design requirements. Sizing and specifying relief devices, control valves, and regulators.Possessing knowledge of midstream process controls and instrumentation, including controls narratives and cause & effect matrices.Possessing ability to interpret and design Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), Plot Plans, Piping Plans, and Piping Isometrics.Developing process simulations and material & energy balances using ProMax software for Cryogenic gas plants including Dehydration and Amine systems. Using these to support process optimization efforts.Possessing knowledge of midstream gas gathering and processing operations, including Cryogenic gas plants, compression, glycol and dehydration, amine treating, hydrocarbon recovery, and condensate stabilizationPossessing knowledge of codes, standards, regulations and best practices applicable to the midstream industry (including API, ASME B31.3/4/8 and VIII, DOT 192/5, NFPA, NACE, etc.)Communicating effectively with internal and external team members (including safety, environmental, operations, construction, commercial, land/ROW, 3rd party contractors, etc.)Completing projects through the entire project lifecycle, including: provide feasibility studies and Front End Loading cost estimates to commercial; generate AFE's; perform detailed engineering and design; scope, bid, and manage construction and commissioning contractors; as-built drawings; and participate in pre-startup safety reviewsProactively seeking opportunities to learn and develop and to find solutions for maximizing value to the business unitContinuously reviewing assets to enhance safety, mechanical reliability, operational flexibility, and capacity.Assurance that all Targa design and construction standards are satisfiedAssurance that Local, State, Federal and Targa Safety & Environmental regulations and policies are satisfiedOther duties as assignedMinimum essential qualifications:BS degree in Chemical Engineering from 4-year accredited universityMinimum 3 - 5 years of experience as project engineer and/or process engineer in natural gas plants processing, construction, and/or operations.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and ExcelAbility to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside the company.Strong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility and willingness to travel at least 25% of the timeRegular and reliable attendancePreferred qualifications:5-10 years of experience in natural gas plants processing, construction and/or operations.Experience with acid gas handling and process equipment.Process simulation and pipeline modeling experience with PROMAX,Experience with rotating equipment.Proficiency in Microsoft Project5+ year of experience in project engineering, process engineering and/or project managementPhysical demands & work environment:Ability to work in changing climate conditions and a plant environmentAble to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, hard hat, FRC)The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.Equal employment opportunity:Targa Resources provides equal employment opportunities based on merit, experience, and other work-related criteria and without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sex, age, pregnancy, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.
