Veterinary Technician: Calm, Compassionate Clinic Partner

If you have spent time in modern veterinary medicine, you likely know the toll that corporate high-volume clinics can take. Running from room to room, treating patients like numbers on a spreadsheet, and answering to out-of-state corporate managers can quickly drain the joy out of this rewarding career. At The Falls Animal Clinic , we do things differently. We are a privately owned, independent South Florida animal clinic. We don’t push sales quotas or run an assembly-line practice. Led by Dr. Doly Baquero , who brings over 20 years of clinical experience and USDA accreditation to our practice, we provide a warm, collaborative environment where your skills are respected and your growth is prioritized. Here, you are a vital medical partner, not just a restraint handler. About the Role: A Breath of Fresh Air in Vet Medicine We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Veterinary Technician to join our tight-knit Palmetto Bay team. In this role, you will use your full range of clinical skills in a low-stress setting, helping us provide premier Miami-Dade pet care with a truly neighborhood feel. Key Responsibilities: Surgical & Exam Assistance: Partner closely with Dr. Baquero during exams, outpatient treatments, and soft-tissue surgeries. Diagnostics & Lab Work: Run in-house lab work, process diagnostic samples, and capture high-quality digital radiographs and EKGs. Patient Advocacy & Anesthesia: Safely administer medications and vaccines, monitor anesthesia, and provide gentle, dedicated nursing care to recovering or hospitalized patients. Client Education: Help local pet parents understand treatment plans, post-op recovery care, and tropical parasite prevention (essential in our warm, humid South Florida climate). What We’re Looking For We value skill, but we value attitude and empathy even more. Our ideal candidate brings: Credentials or Deep Experience: An Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology or a CVT/RVT/LVT license is highly preferred, though we value equivalent hands-on clinical experience. Solid Technical Foundations: Confidence in blood draws, IV catheter placement, anesthetic monitoring, and pharmacology. A Low-Stress Approach: Commitment to gentle, fear-free handling techniques that keep our patients calm and comfortable. Team Mindset: Excellent communication skills, an organized work ethic, and a positive, supportive attitude toward your coworkers. The Benefits of Joining Our Independent Practice We believe in taking care of the people who take care of the pets. When you join our team, you will enjoy: Competitive, Transparent Pay: Compensation that respects your experience and technical skill. Continuing Education (CE) Support: Funding and time to help you expand your knowledge and keep your credentials active. Generous Employee Discounts: Substantial discounts on veterinary services and products for your own pets. Work-Life Balance: A predictable, sustainable schedule in a supportive, independent environment that respects your life outside of the clinic. Rediscover Your Passion for Veterinary Care You became a vet tech because you love animals and want to make a tangible difference in their lives. Let us help you do exactly that in a clinic that feels like home. Ready to take the next step in your career?
