Assistant Branch ManagerThe Assistant Branch Manager has the responsibility of supporting the Branch Manager and in their absence assuming the duties of efficiently running the daily operations of the branch office. The Assistant Branch Manager develops new deposit and loan relationships, provides a superior level of customer service and promotes the service culture through positive coaching, guidance and staff motivation.RequirementsBachelor's degree-business or finance preferred; or equivalent work experienceMinimum of two years of experience in a financial institutionExcellent interpersonal, communication and computer skillsDetail-oriented, strong organizational skills and high degree of accuracyStrong ability to conduct relationships with customers that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the bankMajor Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist the Branch Manager in overseeing the day to day branch operations and performing such duties in the manager's absenceUtilize excellent interpersonal and customer skills, tact and diplomacy in dealing with both customers and employeesKnowledgeable on core operating system and other related softwareCapable of performing Financial Service Representative and Teller dutiesKnowledgeable on all deposit products and consumer and mortgage loansAbility to open and maintenance deposit accountsAssist in opening teller cashbox and handling customer transactions as neededSupervise vault and safe deposit box operations and proceduresApprove customer and bank transactions within authority limitsFollow bank policies and procedures with respect to approving checks and overridesMaintain proper branch and teller cash levels within limits. Responsible for ordering and shipping branch cash through Federal ReserveEnsure that all security procedures are strictly adhered to, branch is operationally sound and satisfactory audits are achievedManage the review and maintenance of internal control logs and daily and monthly reportsEngage in business development activities within branch to develop strong customer relationships regarding deposit accounts and loan originationsAssist staff in meeting sales targets and production goalsDevelop supervisory and leadership skills required to manage, motivate and train branch employeesPrepare staff performance reviews and disciplinary notices as neededEnsure financial institution compliance with Community Reinvestment ActMaintain the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtainedObtain MLO # through Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and RegistryObtain New York State NotaryPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
