Position Summary

The Parts Department Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting technicians, retail customers, and wholesale customers with automotive parts needs. This position helps maintain an organized inventory, processes parts orders, and works closely with the service department to ensure efficient repairs and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist technicians, retail customers, and wholesale customers in identifying and locating the correct automotive parts.
• Receive, inspect, stock, and organize incoming parts shipments.
• Maintain accurate inventory and assist with cycle counts and inventory management.
• Process parts orders, returns, exchanges, and warranty claims.
• Answer phone calls and assist customers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Work closely with the service department to ensure timely parts availability for vehicle repairs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts department.
• Follow all dealership safety procedures and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support dealership operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous automotive parts, inventory, warehouse, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn dealership software.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands to handle automotive parts and equipment.
• Occasionally lift and move parts weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures typically found in warehouse and shop environments.

Driver Requirements

A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record are required if operating dealership vehicles is an essential function of this position.
