Project Estimator

The Project Estimator drives cost planning for HVAC mechanical systems on new and remodel projects, ensuring accurate bids, budgets, and schedules. They collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to produce detailed estimates, manage vendor pricing, and support project execution. The role supports the company's growth by delivering competitive pricing and maintaining project profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents

• Perform quantity takeoffs for HVAC materials and equipment

• Estimate labor costs, material costs, equipment, and subcontracted work

• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing

• Prepare detailed and accurate project cost estimates and bid proposals

• Perform jobsite visits and assist installers and contractors with scheduling

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams

• Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and pricing data

• Track changes in material costs, labor rates, and market conditions

• Assist with change order pricing as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)

• Minimum of 5 years field experience or education in project management

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

• Proficiency with computer

• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of local building codes and industry standards

• Experience with commercial and/or residential HVAC projects

• Strong communication and negotiation skills

• Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines

• Proficiency with duct drawing and load calculation software
