Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory colleagues to support accurate analysis and the timely delivery of results.What You'll Be Doing:Prepare slides for microscopic evaluation by performing routine tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining activitiesPartner with pathologists to facilitate pathological analysis and the timely delivery of resultsOperate, maintain, and troubleshoot histology laboratory equipmentMaintain complete and accurate documentation in accordance with standard operating procedures, good documentation practices, and regulatory guidelinesSupport process improvements that increase data quality, reduce costs, or improve turnaround times, including SOP updates and troubleshooting activitiesMaintain laboratory inventory and a clean, organized work environment consistent with safety, quality, and 6S standardsSupport laboratory or cross-functional projects, study setup coordination, and the implementation of process improvementsEnsure compliance with company procedures and all applicable local, federal, CLIA, and CAP requirementsWhat We Are Looking For:A high school diploma or equivalent is requiredTypically requires 2-3 years of experience in a histopathology lab or disciplineASCP qualification or equivalent and 1 year of experience in a clinical, research, academic, or commercial/production laboratory are requiredDetailed knowledge of histology techniques, specialized laboratory equipment, clinical testing procedures, and staining techniquesKnowledge of applicable laboratory testing regulations, including CLIA and CAP requirementsAbility to troubleshoot laboratory equipment and resolve process issuesApplicable certifications and licenses as required by local regulationsOther equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degreeThe Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and data qualityEffective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyEffective written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skillsAbility to establish and maintain productive working relationships with coworkers, managers, clients, and pathologistsProficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and WordCommitment to laboratory safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvementAbility to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
